Oliver joins fellow rookie James Rolling in the line-up for the team from Maldon, Essex, that enjoyed a sensational 2024 season as they stormed to the Drivers’ crown with Mckenzie Douglass.
The driver from Halstead, Essex, joins team-mate James in the Am class and announces his programme following the Ginetta Racing Media Day test at Donington Park on Tuesday.
Having taken part in numerous track days and test days with Fox since the star of 2023, Oliver made his race debut in the Ginetta GT Academy Championship at last year’s Brands Hatch season finale.
Two class podiums from three races served notice of his talent and ambition.
This has been further noted by his decision to move up to the GT class – and the most powerful version of Ginetta’s G56 race car, the GTP8 – for 2025 with 390bhp available from the car’s 6.2-litre V8 engine.
The Ginetta GT Championship starts at Donington Park on April 5-6 and comprises six rounds of between two and three races each across the UK. Donington is also the location of the final round on October 4-5.
Oliver Fordham said: “It doesn’t feel like five minutes ago that I was making my race debut in Ginetta GTAs in a Fox G56 at Brands Hatch, but it’s already five months ago and the lessons I learned that weekend have fuelled my desire to do even more. Moving up to GT from GTA is a big step in terms of the car and the increased competition, but with support from the team at Fox Motorsport, I’m confident I can take a big step forwards in speed and consistency as the season continues.”
Paul McNeilly, Team Principal, said: “It’s great to double our presence in the Ginetta GT Championship – the first time we’ve fielded two cars in the series since it took on its current form. We had a fantastic year in 2024 as we won the overall championship and with two talented rookies in Ollie and James, we’ve set our sights on the Am class title. Ollie’s made good progress in the testing he’s done with us so far so while he’s light on race experience, I expect he’ll learn fast ad be a factor as the season develops.”
