The 15-year-old from Wilmslow, who was racing the Ginetta G40 Junior outside the UK for the first time, brought his podium total for the year to 13 in the category for first-year drivers with no significant karting background.
He did this with some tenacious overtaking in all three races after suffering with lost positions through the opening first few twists and turns on each occasion.
Sunday’s finale was Henry’s best performance and result. Edged off the track midway round the first lap, he fell to last place, but gained six spots over the next few laps and was set to make up further ground when the safety car bunched the field.
Unfortunately an over-ambitious move by a rival driver (for which his assailant was penalised by race officials) spun Henry around, again dropping him to last and leaving precious little time to recover in the final five minutes.
A multi-car incident next time around brought an early finish to the race, but did allow Henry to make up positions, promoting him to second in the Freshman class (where he had finished the first two races also) and a weekend-best 12th in the Rookie rankings.
Three rounds remain in the Ginetta Junior Championship, but Fox will be back on track this weekend at Silverstone with their GB4 Championship squad in action.
Paul McNeilly, Team Principal, said: “Racing at a new circuit for the first time is never an easy challenge for a rookie like Henry, especially when he’s our only driver here and doesn’t have a team-mate to compare data against. Adding to that, our only races here in the past have been in different series so it’s effectively a new track for the team too. Henry showed how much his racecraft has improved since the start of the season as he had to battle through the pack in all three races and was very unlucky in the last race to recover well after being pushed off on the first lap and then be spun by another driver later on. His development bodes well for the final two rounds.”
