The pair each recorded points finishes as they battled hard to overcome the challenges caused by both the heat and their lack of single-seater experience around the demanding three-mile circuit near Norwich.
Fresh from her first single-seater top-10 result in challenging wet conditions at Oulton Park last time out, Holly this time bagged a points finish aboard her Tatuus Tatuus MSV GB4-025.
The 17-year-old from Chelmsford enhanced her reputation as one of the most tenacious opening-lap drivers on the grid as she made up four places during Race One’s opening lap and six during the finale.
Dealing with the relentless pace and high tyre wear in the stiflingly hot conditions, she began the weekend with a 22nd-place finish and ended it with a points finsh in 20th.
These results keep her in contention to win the £50,000 F1 Academy advancement fund that will be awarded to the highest-placed female driver at the end of the season.
Team-mate Caitlyn was racing at Snetterton for the first time and scored the team’s best result of the weekend with 18th in Race Two.
This came after a strong recovery from the London-based American, who had to drive off the circuit at the first corner to avoid being collected by a spinning rival.
She was 24th and 21st in the weekend’s other two races to maintan her status of having finished every one of the 12 races so far this season.
The series continues at Silverstone on August 2-3.
Paul McNeilly, Team Principal, said: “Snetterton is one of the toughest racetracks on the calendar. It’s blend of long corners puts a big strain on single-seater drivers phyisically and the heat we had this weekend only makes that a bigger challenge. GB4 is a development formula and we’re seeing big progress from both Holly and Caitlyn. Holly’s first-lap driving has been impressive and Caitlyn, who only sat in a kart for the first time a 14 months ago, is getting faster all the time. We’re looking forward to the final three rounds.”
